St. Patty's Day Parade
PLYC's
entry in the 2008 St. Patricl's Day Parade earned the Irish Council of Southern
California's Special award. Over a dozen PLYC members and numerous guests entertained
the crowd and braved the threat of rain. The Fabulous Dan Band had the spectators
rocking to their unending rendition of "What Do You Do With A Drunken Sailor".
"Captain Al Niño" made a return appearance after a 4 year absense
and had the crowd on edge as he attempted to clear the route of "golf balls"
left by the horses ahead of us.
After the parade we retired to the north end of the festivities and enjoyed
corned beef sandwiches, local Irish fare, beer, and the rockin' music of The
Fabulous Dan Band.
